“Bronx Light/Bronx Dark”, a staged reading, is about a lot of things. It’s about growing up in a place that was supposed to be perfect and was perfect on the outside. It was a time when nobody spoke about anything that wasn’t perfect...on the outside.  It was a time when women traded control of themselves for being taken care of. How did it all work out? Was it worth it? How did a girl, Suzanne, growing up at this time, navigate her way through it? Who helped her? Who didn’t? The Good Humor Man, a neighborhood fixture, bears witness. He is a neutral observer, who also happens to know the future, who knows how it all turns out.

Playwright, Stephanie Sloane from Monterey takes us through her own journey growing up in the Bronx, NY.
